How To Get Rid Of Mice

While the cute little white mice you see in the local pet shop can make cool pets for your kids, having mice infesting your home is quite a different matter. These nasty rodents often carry diseases, eat your food and are generally destructive to your home and your possessions. And while children's cartoons may lead you to think of mice in a more gentle way, you have to remember the ones that invade your home are not the slightest bit funny. Learning how to get rid of mice that live in the walls and crawl spaces of your home is not as difficult as it might sound. The first step in learning how to get rid of mice is to try and identify where they are coming into your home. This means searching all through the cupboards, closets, the basement and the crawlspaces. The only way you are going to be able to rid your home of these pests is to find out how they are getting into your home and put a stop to it.

Then you can begin the process of eliminating the ones that are already in your home. Once you have put a stop to any more mice getting into your home you can take the next step in how to get rid of mice. This involves the use of several different methods to eradicate the ones that are still in your home. One of the most common methods of getting rid of the mice is too use a mouse trap.

There are traps such as the spring trap which is designed to kill the mouse instantly and the glue trap which is designed to starve the mouse to death. Neither of these is particularly humane and there are traps available that trap the mouse alive so that you can choose how you want to get rid of him. Another popular method of how to get rid of mice is to use poison; there are many different poisons available on the market.

Some are powders that are ingested and carried back to the nest, while others come in block form with the same results. One thing to keep in mind is that since these are poisonous to mice they are also poisonous to people and should only be used in areas where there is little to no risk of your children coming into contact with them. Information About Pesticides
Why do we use pesticides?

Pesticides (the generic term for insecticides, herbicides and fungicides) control weeds, insect pests,  fungi and other plant diseases. The benefit of pesticides lies in their ability to manage pest problems that otherwise would grow out of control. Without pesticides, your health or the health of your family, pets and plants, or the quality of your home, lawn, school or business would be at risk.

Formosan Termites

Formosan subterranean termites are difficult to control. For that reason, prevention should be the first line of defense. If a Formosan colony is found within a structure, quick action is required to minimize potential structural damage.  It is important to note that Formosan termites are not commonly found in Georgia, and most cases that have been identified here involve importing them in infested railroad ties from other states such as Louisiana and Mississippi.
